Settings

Settings controls the planning assumptions used by Blue North for field forecasts and readiness checks.

What Settings affects

The current settings are especially important for:

  • blockwalk launch forecasts
  • phone bank labor planning
  • supply readiness checks
  • expected contact-rate calculations

Why this matters

Planning tools are only useful when their assumptions roughly match reality.

If your campaign consistently sees different volunteer throughput, call rates, or contact rates, update Settings so the forecasts become more trustworthy.

Examples

A campaign might adjust settings for:

  • expected doors per hour
  • expected contact rates
  • default shift length
  • manual dialer versus auto-dialer pace

Best practices

  • Review settings after a few real events, not just before the first one.
  • Update assumptions when campaign context changes.
  • Treat settings as a shared planning baseline for the whole field team.
