My Turf

My Turf turns voter lists into field geography. It helps a campaign create regions, cut smaller turfs, preview maps, and understand whether the field plan is walkable.

What turf is

A turf is a set of voters or doors grouped for canvassing. Good turf should be compact enough for a canvasser to walk during a shift and clear enough that the canvasser knows where to go.

What you can do

  • View regions cut from voter lists
  • Click a turf for a map preview
  • Review key stats like doors, support, turnout, and contact status
  • Connect turf to blockwalk launches
  • Use turf assignments in field operations

Basic workflow

  1. Create or choose a saved voter list.
  2. Cut that list into geographic regions.
  3. Split regions into walkable turfs.
  4. Review the map and stats.
  5. Assign turfs to canvassers or connect them to a blockwalk launch.

When a turf is ready to walk, use Give Turf to a Knocker to share the mobile Walk App link, pickup code, or barcode with the canvasser.

Tips for better turf

  • Keep turfs geographically compact.
  • Do not overload one turf with too many doors for the expected shift length.
  • Use region names that match how field staff talk about the area.
  • Check the map before launch day so organizers can catch weird shapes or bad groupings.
