Walk App

The Walk App is the mobile-first canvassing view for volunteers and organizers in the field.

It is designed to be simpler than the desktop campaign workspace, with the controls a canvasser needs while walking doors.

What it is for​

Use the Walk App when a canvasser needs to:

  • work through assigned turf
  • view voters or households in walking order
  • record contact attempts
  • move quickly between doors
  • use a phone-friendly interface instead of the desktop dashboard

How it fits with turf​

The campaign should first create lists and cut turf in the desktop workspace. Once turf exists, the Walk App becomes the field execution layer for canvassers.

To send a specific assignment to a canvasser, follow Give Turf to a Knocker. The short version is: open the turf in Canvassing > My Turf, share the pickup code or barcode, and have the canvasser load it from https://app.runvotewin.com/walk.

Best practices​

  • Cut and review turf before sending volunteers into the field.
  • Keep individual assignments realistic for the expected shift length.
  • Train canvassers on how to record outcomes consistently.
  • Use post-canvass results to improve future list and turf decisions.
